How To Cure Red Rashes On Lower Leg And Ankle?

My friend thought he was bitten by a spider a bout a year ago. after a few days he got better. The sysptoms are a hot red rash on the lower right leg, ankle to about mid-calf. Body aches, fever, no energy, and sleeps a lot. This is the third time that I know of it happening. any ideas?
