How To Cure Sensitive Ears Of A 4 Years Old Child?

my 4 year little boy has always had sensitive ears saying too loud quite alot, but over the past year when he is exposed to loud sounds/noises he crys in pain and has to cover his ears until the noise is reduced, his ears dont cause him any other problems apart from when he is exposed to the loud sounds such as music etc what could this be?
