How To Cure Sore Throat?

i have continuous flem in throat like for past year, been on 5 antibiotics since summer and keep getting chest infections and tonsilitis, rite now have awful pain down right side of my throat. I feel lik returning to my GP will be no good, they dont seem to think its significant its so recurring
