How To Cure Swollen Tonsils?

hello, lately ive been having trouble with my throat. one tonsil is swolen but isnt in as much pain as my throat. i struggle to swallow things such as paracetamol. my mom had to chop it up in quaters and i still struggle to swallow. but i sing but havn;t been lately since my throat began to hirt and swell. what shall i do and what condition could i have?
