How To Get Rid Of Blood Clots In Nose Post Nasal Septum Surgery?

Hello.. I had surgery yesterday morning on my nose to fix a deviated septum. After the surgery they removied the splints or.. something like that form my nose. I went to clean thee tip of my nostral of any blood and on the left one it seems that the q-tip was getting stuck. I was thinking that it may be some crusted blood, and if so, what would be the best way to get it out? Should I gently pull it out or keep trying to clean it?..
