How To Get Rid Of Injury Scars On My Shin?

I was building a deck and accidentally stepped into an open slat making a 3" cut on my mid left shin, still have discoloration scar three years later, recently I walked into a bech with sharp edges and made a significant 1" sharp cut on my right leg, also mid shin. Looks as though I will have a matching scar. Have been putting bio oil on after shower and had made mild improvement... anyhting else you recommend as they are no flattering and shorts weather coming up soon? Thanks Tom B
