How To Get Rid Of Mole On My Lower Leg?

I have a "mole" on my lower right leg. I noticed it a month ago and it was similar to a scab which I picked off and just noticed it again yesterday - it's maybe an eighth inch around and has some redness surrounding the area for about a quarter inch. It's kinda freaking me out. Should I be concerned???
