How To Get Rid Of Ringing In The Ears?

10 days ago I got water in my ear while showering and I couldn't hear out of it. I put water drying drops and it did not help. 4 days later I went to see my DR. who told me that it was a wax blockage. He irrigated it and he said it was gone and I should be ok. Since then nothing has improved I still hear ringing in my ear and I don't hear well out if it. I have never had any problems with my ears until now. I don't know what to do the ringing is very annoying.
