How To Get Rid Of Verrucae On Foot?

I have had a terrible verrucae on my foot for the past 15 years and at first tried everything to get rid of it, freezing it, over the counter treatments, duct tape etc Then I was told nothing I could do would get rid of it, they have now spread and are painful is it true that I will never get rid of them?
