How To Inflammation And Redness In Nose?

My husband's nose has been getting inflammed. By the end of the day, it is red and swollen and he cannot touch it. He says it is like someone punched him in the nose. When he gets home, he puts ice on it and takes a couple of Advil and that brings the soreness and swelling down, but the redness remains. The next day it starts again.
