How To Remove Kidney Stone?

I was digonosed with a 5mm kidney stone and have been in terrible pain in my back and lower stomach and have had increased urine flow and less bowl function and get sick to my stomach when I eat or drink. Would I have to go have the stone removed or how long before it will pass
