How To Remove Red Patches On Cheeks?

Hey, I'm a female, 17 yrs old and diabetic..My problem is i've noticed a red patch on the upper inside of both sides of my cheeks. It has a weird texture from my cheek but other then that it doesn't hurt and it's quite annoying. It has been there for at least 2 months or more. I haven't seeked any medical attention to it. Just wondering if i should check it out or just leave it alone?
