How To Remove Staples Left Inside Body?

Roughly 6 years ago I unwent surgery. Along with this I had internal staples. After I was released I had a few staples left inside of my body. They don't bother me most of time but I am wondering if they were left in to connect some muscle together and if they will eventually deteriorate.
