How To Stop Persistent Hiccups?

My husband starting having the hiccups last evening and then had a lot of belching. He vomited and had diameters. I thout it was a stomach bug because I had a bad case of it last week. But he feels a lot better now, except he is hiccuping a lot still? What can I do to help stop them? Thanks
