How To Stop Vaginal Spotting While On Breastfeeding?

i am breastfeeding my 7 week old baby exclusively and according to my doctor I got my period about 3 weeks ago. The problem is that even when my period seems to have finished i keep on spotting. Is there anything I can do to stop spotting? and is this normal? ( I am not on any form of birth control)
