How To Treat A Bump On Head Caused Due To An Injury?

I fell Thursday morning and hit my head on the side of a small table as I fell.I had a goose egg pop up immediately.We applied ice. I did not lose consciousness at all. I felt funny for a little while but mostly I have felt sore like I had been in a wreck.The soreness has subsided pretty much now. I am having soreness in the area where the goose egg was and some residual pain in that area some. It feels like it s just still sore and healing but my family is worried that I might need to go to a doctor for a scan. I feel like I just had a bad fall and I m getting better. Is there a way to tell whether I should go in or not?
