How To Treat Anxiety While Being Diagnosed With Diabetes?

Hi there: I have been experiencing anxiety symptoms for awhile now. I am a diabetic and my sugars have been high for a long time. My last A1C test about a month ago showed that my A1C was at 9.2. My doctor has recently upped my Glyberide pill from 1.25 to 2.5 once in the morning and then 1.25 with evening meal. I do take 2 - 500 mg of metformin in the morning and evening meals. I am currently on Co-candesartan 4 mg once daily. I also take 1 - 40 mg tablet of Tecta to help with heartburn. My question to you is my doctor gave me a one month trial of 50 mg Pristiq extended release tablets that she told me to cut in half to start out with as I am sensitive to new drugs. I have read online in the package information that you are not to cut these pills in half. Is my doctor correct in stating that I can cut the Pristiq pills in half? I am anxious about having to try it....which is a "Catch 22" because I need to get rid of my anxiety. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated. When I went to fill my prescriptions today the pharmacy was so busy that it wasn't possible to discuss with my pharmacist. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Regards, D. Stewart
