How To Treat Bleeding After Ripping Of Ring Due To Nipple Piercing?

I have a nipple piercing and it was being rejected by my body to the point where i could see metal through my nipple. I tried taking the ring out but while pulling it apart the ring ripped through the layer of skin it was under and it started bleeding. I got the bleeding to stop and covered it with a bandaid. What else could be done to avoid any further damage?
