How To Treat Bleeding Of Lump In Shin Caused Due To A Cut?

Hi Doctor,Last Monday I hit my shin quite hard causing a cut and lump to develop. I am currently covering the cut during the day but opening it at night. The cut is still bleeding and is quite sore. In addition my ankle and foot has now become heavily bruised on both sides. I do not have any pain in my ankle or foot. Is this something that I should be worried about.
