How To Treat Blocked Ear?

Hi my right ear is so blocked and I have no idea why. My mother and father's same exact right ear is also blocked. Doesn't make sense I know most ear problems shouldn't be contagious.. I kind of woke up with it. It was blocked so I tried to clean it out with a q-tip but I think I made it worse =/ I also got baptised yesterday? Maybe it was from that? But the thing is, is all day after I was fine but I woke up with it. It also really hurts when I hiccup.
