How To Treat Breathlessness Caused Due To Acid Reflex Inspite Of Taking Pepcid?

My husband keep having acid reflex he has a hard time breathing when he get this he has to set up all night he went to the hospital gave him apresprection for Pepcid 40 mg what else can he do he said it's very uncomfortable for him I'm concerned about him please help
