How To Treat Bug Bites Leading To Itchiness In Arms And Legs?

I just returned from the Exuma Islands in the Bahamas 2 days ago. I got numerous bug bites, which they said were from sand flies while I was there. In addition, I have a sun sensitivity and get hives sometimes w/exposure to sun. I am now back and some of the hives have gone away, but most of the bug bites are still there and the itching is worse than when I was there. I seem to have areas on my arms, legs and stomach that the itching gets worse w/heat. Not sure exactly what it is. Benedryl seems to help and cortizone cream a little, but I m just worried because its worse rather than better.
