How To Treat Chest Discomfort And Pain After Undergoing Gastroenteritis?

In late December 2014 I had gastroenteritis with violent vomiting and gastric for two days.Since then I cannot touch my ribs on the left side (it s been 11 weeks) and gentle pressure over an area from my sternum to the left side of my breast down to the last rib is really painful and sleeping is really uncomfortable on my left side. Even deep breathing is painful. A massage recently aggravated it greatly making it acute once more. Swimming is painful too.
