How To Treat Chronic Cough Leading To Body Pain?

I have had a persistent violent cough for 5 days which is making my whole body ache especially my lower back. I am taking paracetamol every 4 hours because I am unable to take anything stronger due to an aspirin allergy and the blood pressure tablets I am taking. Is there any other relief I can get?
