How To Treat Discomfort In Nose?

hi,my left ear, has is giving me problems.every now and then i feel like i need to blow air by blocking my nose so i can try and clear my left earthis has been happening for about 5 to 6 years now.I'm 25 years old.A doctor (GP), has once said the left ear canal looks slightly inflamed than the right.... <What can i do to sort this out?
