How To Treat Elevated HCT And HGB Levels After Taking Mirena?

Hi: I am a 34YOWF and I have had a Mirena for a year. My HCT, HGB and Fe are all slightly elevated, but my Ferritin level is in the middle of normal range. I was told by a Dr. friend that the Fe elevation could be a false high. My endocrinologist just wrote a note at the bottom of my lab sheet referring me to a Heme Onc Dr. Have you ever seen pts with Mirena with this problem? My friend explained:
The hormone released by the mirena increases protein production by the liver. Iron is bound to protein. So the iron measured in the blood is protein bound which will be artificially increased due to the hormone effect on the liver.

I am thinking that I never had a problem before and should go back to the pill (have mirena removed) to see if labs go back to normal before I f/u with Heme Onc. Advice?

Other Medical Hx:
Controlled pituitary microadenoma(since 19yrs old)
Ht: 5ft Normal body wt prior to Mirena 135 now 155# (frustrated about that but see it on numerous message boards as common).
Take 1/2 pill dostinex a week and 50,000 IU Vit D a week.
