How To Treat Extra Bone Growth Below Wrist Leading To Pain?

My daughter has an extra bone on the wrist below the thumb area and was told there was nothing they can do for her, is that true or are there other options that can be done for her. She has pains when you touch it or the pain just comes when she not doing anything. could it be something more?
