How To Treat Fungal Infection In Ears And Swelling Of Lymph Nodes?

my husband has been diagnosed with ear fungus. he was given drops and antibiotics. He was told if he hadn't caught it as early as he did he would need surgery. Now his lymph nodes are all swollen. I have a call in to the doctor but heard nothing yet. Do I need to get him to an ER?
