How To Treat Heat Boils In Infants?

Hi, my 5 month old baby has heat boils on her head. She feels ITCHING, so she is not sleeping and feeling very discomfort. she is keeping on crying when she is awake, I am not sure if it because of pain. when we give a head wash she feels better and after some time she starts crying by holding her hair. She just moved from a hill sation to chennai (very hot). please advise should we use some medicine. I consulted a doctor and he says to wait for 2 days.
