How To Treat Itchy And Dry Eyes Permanently?

Hi,my eyes have been itching a lot. I went to an opthalmologist and she gave me gatilox DM for a week gradually reducing the frequency of putting the drops as days pass by. I dint face problems till the time i kept putting the eye drops but as soon as I stopped, the same problem of itching continues. Its been two weeks since I had last used the gatilox drops.I was wondering if I should restart. Also I have dry eyes.
