How To Treat Leg Pain Due To Rod In My Leg?

I am taking vicodin 7.5 for server leg pain witch I broke and have a rod put in I take one every 8 hours and the pain is still very bad were I can hardy walk what should I do I go to the doctor and said that the pain will go away they keep taking Xrays every time I see them Help
