How To Treat Loss Of Appetite,excess Sleeping And Diagnosed With CHF And COPD?

My 82 yr old mother in law has been diagnosed with chf and copd. she has severe edema in her legs. they are hard and red. Her appetite has deminished and it is a fight to get her to eat. She also sleeps a lot, somedays up to 15 hrs a day. I m wondering if the end may be closer than we think.
