How To Treat Lump On Thighs After An Injury?

I had a fall on my thigh onto steps three weeks ago. The large bruise has now gone but there is still a lump about less than egg size above where the bruise was. it is not painful now but seems to have been a long time, should I visit my doctor or should it pass gradually?
