How To Treat Painful And Swollen Knee?

Hi my husband got stuck on the knee with two thorns, we don t have any idea what plant was it. He got some blood work done, x-rays, and was taking an antibiotic, and naproxen for a week now. He was a little better but he again swollen and hurting. What can we do?
