How To Treat Recurring Skin Problem?

I have had a recurring skin problem for seven months which gets better when I use antibiotics and a steroid cream but comes back again when I stop taking the treatment. Looking back the problems started around the same time a tooth broke which I have not had treated. Do you think the two things could be related?
