How To Treat Shingles While Being Diagnosed With Urinary Retention?

I have been diagnosed with Shingles and have urinary retention. The condition means I must use catheter. The Shingles and retention problems began about one week ago. The shingles appears to be controlled but is there any treatment for the urinary retention? Thanks for your input.John Taylor
