How To Treat Slight Edema And Pain In Shin Area Due To An Injury?

Hi...I slipped on the ice and hit my shin hard. It left a huge lump...its been over a week...there is some edema slight +1 pitting, and it hurts to walk. Could shin be fractured, or deep contusion. I have been elevating and icing. With out the ice it is warm to touch. Should I be concerned?
