How To Treat The Migraines?

I am 37 year old woman I am 5'7 and weigh 9st I am taking carbimazole for a thyroid problem for the past couple of months I have been suffering from migraines and they are gettin worse and lasting longer the last one i had started on thursday and was on my right side and my eye was all swollen especially around my eyebrow and has only just gone (saturday afternoon)I have been to my doctors who just prescribes pain killers which dont really do anything should i go back to my doctors and demand some tests be done or something else thank you
