How To Treat Tightness At The Site Of Stitches Post Shoulder Surgery?

how long after open shoulder surgery for proximal humerus fracture repair does it take absorbable stitches to go away? I feel pulling at the site, which is very uncomfortable when lying in bed at night. I had a plate and screws put in 2 1/2 weeks ago.
