How To Treat Umbilical Hernia Caused Post Pregnancy?

Dear Dr. I am a 77 year old woman and have this Umbilical hernia around the naval area which developed after the birth of my second baby 48 years ago. It seems to be gradually enlarging of late and becoming slightly uncomfortable. Would surgical treatment be appropriate at this time ?
