How To Treat Weakness And Pain In Joints Inspite Of Using Fentanyl Patches?

I've been on prednisone 40 years off and on but mostly on due to lung disease. It's been well over a year I've finally weaned off and the past 4 months my body and joints are killing me. They said I have prednisone withdrawal and it will take up to 3 years until I'm feeling better meanwhile they prescribed Fentanyl patches for the pain. That said: the lightning bolts and burning pain has subsided but my weak and painful joints and bones are affected.Is there any suggestions you have as to why I'm living like this?
