How To Withdraw Lexapro?

I m on 20mg of lexapro once a day. I want to wean off of it, but have read numerous reviews of the terrible side effects of doing so. I also take ativan IF I have a bad panic attack, which isn t often. I would like to know what is the best way to go about this. My GP is of NO help and I am seriously considering a getting a new GP.
