Husband Has A Whitish Bump On His Uvula And Another

Husband has a whitish bump on his uvula and another whitish area on the inside of his throat. The one on his uvula has been there for a few months but his company doctor said not to worry about it. Kept getting a sinus infection so went to our local doctor.
He seemed very concerned as he said something like the whitish areas couldn't be scraped so they needed to be removed. Put my husband on an antibiotic and steriods for two weeks, then he's going to take it off. Should we be concerned?
