Husband Has Lost His Sense Of Direction. Just Found Out

Husband has lost his sense of direction. Just found out it started 6 months ago. My husband has always had a superb memory for directions and keeps his mind sharp by doing sudoku and crosswords. He retired a year ago and seems lethargic all the time and not motivated. He heart is fine but does have diabetes. Any thoughts?
