I Am 17 And Just Recently Have Become Sexually Active.

I am 17 and just recently have become sexually active. I've tried four times, but I bleed every time even though I tried to allow a week or two rest between in case my body needed to heal. I don't even feel any pain during the intercourse anymore, but afterwards it kind of aches/pains. Is this normal? I don't feel comfortable asking my mom to take me to the gyno, but I'm a little scared.
