I Am 18 And Just Recently It's Felt Like There's

I am 18 and just recently it's felt like there's a burp or air stuck in my throat. And when I swallow saliva there a pain in my chest. I've tried drinking tea but it didn't help much. Every time I swallow a drink or food it feels like I've swallowed mashed potatoes or something. What is wrong with my throat?
