I am 2 years post op TAH BSO and within this same surgery I had a mesentery mass resected, immediately post surgery, I could not defecate, had extreme pelvic pain left side (45 plus ER visits), was told by my surgeons, GI doc and PCP "They cannot figure it out" I was diagnosed 1 1/2 years later (by a Neurogasteroenterologist specialist in SF) with pelvic floor dysfunction and outlet syndrome, and I know I have nerve damage from this surgery. It wasn't until I saw my new PCP 1 1/2 years later that I was ordered physical therapy for pelvis and given pain management by a pain management specialist. I might add these earlier docs are all very close and neighbors. I did not sue, due to statue of limitations. Two months before this surgery, my 40 year old sister committed suicide lighting herself on fire. Post surgery, the surgeons and my docs used my trauma as an excuse why I was having such a difficult recovery but they never took responsibility for the botched surgery. Certainly, stress adds to delayed recovery but it was not the cause. I am a disabled nurse case manager now and waiting for my disability for 2 years with no income. My life was destroyed. I am now making a very slow recovery 2 years later. Do you see any hope for me?
