I Am 24 Years Old And For The Past Two

I am 24 years old and for the past two days my left nipple has been burning. It has been so sensitive that a t-shirt rubbing on it is excruciating pain for a few seconds. When I get in the shower, the stream of water hitting it, hurts just as bad. When I get out the shower I took a look at my nipple and it looked enlarged and it had bumps around like normal but they were red. I am just wondering if this is normal because this has happened once before.
