I Am 26 Years Old. I've Had These Symptoms Before

I am 26 years old. I've had these symptoms before but I've ignored it. 2 weeks ago I had sex with my partner and a few days later I had symptoms of a yeast infection which included my vagina to be red irritated and itchy no clumpy white discharges but brown specks that were there every time I wiped. I assumed it was a yeast infection and self diagnosed and took monostat 7 for the full 7 days. The brown specks the itching the irritation and redness all went away. A day later after I finished the medication I had intercourse. The next morning I went to use the bathroom and noticed the brown specks again. I am unsure what the problem is and if I need to go to the gyn or not. Please help thank you.
