I am 39. Had a hysterectomy September 2015. Left my ovaries. Two weeks post op had a fall and my cuff tore. With CT scan found I had an infection and a blood clot on my ovary. My doctor put me on antibiotics and let the cuff heal on it's own. 5 weeks later returned to work as a nursing assistant. 2 weeks back to work my cuff tore completely at work. Required surgery to fix. And during this surgery they found my bowels were being strangulated with scar tissue and I had a severe infection causing me to be on IV antibiotics and on oral antibiotics for 4 weeks. Four weeks after second surgery I was doing yard work and it started to tear again. Doctor again let it heal on it's own. Back to work and it started to tear again and my bowels twisted causing a blockage. Thankfully they untwisted on their own. Doctor wanted to wait to do the cuff repair until my bowels were ok. By the time I got to see him he said it healed perfectly. This was end of April 2016. I started dating someone around this time. Three weeks ago I tried to have intercourse with him. Had to stop due to pain and light bleeding. No intercourse since then and I still have some discomfort. Is this something I will have to keep dealing with the rest of my life? Will I be able to have intercourse without pain and bleeding? Can I develope an infection from sex if the cuff tears?
